Fluoride and cavities

Since the city decided to remove Fluoride from our water supply several years ago, we have noticed a dramatic increase in the number and size of cavities that children are presenting with in our office.  Please insure that YOU are brushing your children’s teeth at least twice a day (after breakfast, and before bedtime) with a toothpaste containing fluoride, and floss their teeth before bedtime.  Children do not have the manual dexterity to do a good job on their own, and the fluoride from the toothpaste will help prevent cavities.  Please do not leave your children’s oral hygiene for them to look after!

Do you hate the numb feeling that you get when a local anesthetic is used for your dental appointment?  If so, we now have a local anesthetic reversal agent called ‘Oraverse’, that removes the feeling sooner.  After application of Oraverse, most patients lose the numb feeling in about 45 minutes!  Ask us how you can benefit from the use of Oraverse!

Due to the economic slowdown we are all experiencing, and hardships that many families are now experiencing, we have decided not to increase dental fees for the upcoming year.  In surveys done by the Alberta Dental Association, our fees are similar to those charged by the majority of dental offices in Calgary, and are determined by a number of factors, such as overhead.  Please be aware that payment plans are available to help with your dental treatment.  Neglecting your teeth now, will be more costly in the future!

Please be advised that the Palliser Parkade is now charging $8.00 per hour or portion thereof for parking.  We have contacted Impark to complain about how unfair this is, when you consider that the daily parking rate is $20, and people have to pay $16 for a one and a half hour stay.  Unfortunately, they have not responded to our concern.  Although the parkade is extremely convenient when visiting our office, you may want to consider alternative parking.  As well, it would help if you contacted Impark to let them know how unfair their pricing is.  We still continue to have 12 dedicated parking stalls on the 4th floor, west side, against the north wall.  These stalls have been designated as ‘Reserved’, but they are reserved for dental and medical patients.  Please don’t hesitate to park there.
